Amelia is the owner of Amelia Ramstead Writing and Editing, a freelance writing and editing service with a focus on marketing for small businesses. She lives in the Seattle area with her husband, two children and a cat. When she is not reading and writing she can usually be found slaying internet dragons or attempting to revive the plants in her garden. Occasionally, when she has time, she likes to drag out the cross-stitch and work a bit on that.

Her oldest child has Asperger's Syndrome and she has done a great deal of research on the subject in her efforts to learn about the condition and successfully help him cope. She encourages him to try new things, and he has had success in sports like skiing and soccer and is a productive member of his Boy Scout patrol.

Her younger child is a preschooler who loves to dance and help out around the house.

Amelia has written a novel in the modern fantasy genre, which she is currently editing and hopes to publish in 2012.

In addition to Suite101, she is a columnist at Comics Bulletin, and her work has also been featured on Wow Insider. She copy edits for DailySource.org and Advanced Life Systems. She also writes a blog about her journey as a small business owner.
